Good Dim-Sum! Tea was delicious and very healthy. I would probably come back and try other items on the menu.
Amazing food!! I am normally very picky about Chinese food, but this place has wonderful dishes with a lot of flavors!!!! The prices were also really reasonable. I highly recommend the beef chow fun and fried rice. I don't feel like you could go wrong here!!
Called the restaurant to reserve a table for 7. We were told no reservations are taken but it is first come first serve. I asked how late they would be open for dim sum and they said till 10 pm. We drove 1.5 hours to reach the restaurant only to be told that they cannot seat us because the manager would not allow. There were other people in similar situation and not very happy. Fortunately Triple Crown took us in. This place has no concept of customer service but then again who would expect it in this place!
Not one negative thing to say about this place. Fantabulous everything. 10/10, would definitely come back and highly recommend to whoever is reading this review.
Amazing Dim Sum. Don't be afraid to explore the menu and take a chance on something new
Very nice place to go and dining. I tried orange chicken and it was very good (literally you can taste and observe oranges). Food was so fresh and low in sodium which is one of the things that I fear when I am buying this kind of food. 😉
google says they close at 10, their website says they close at 9, and a random piece of paper on their door only in traditional chinese says they close at 7. useless.
Dim sum took me back to Rowland Heights, CA where I used to get the best dim sum in town. This was on point, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I wish I had ordered more!
I sent my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are fantastic and the team is generous and cooperative. Every time we go to this place we have a lovely evening. warmly recommended.
Totally in love with this restaurant! The restaurant itself is very nice. Delicious food and nice staff. For my opinion, prices are reasonable for its portions. However, I do recommend booking a reservation on certain days. I had to wait for over an hour for my table, but it was totally worth it! I totally consider coming back.
The food was okay but the service was questionable. We had no pitcher of water on the table, missing silverware and not a lot of attention from the waiter. Too expensive for the service to be so shabby.
We make sure to stop here every time we’re in Chicago. The food is great and served hot, the service is efficient, and the atmosphere is nice for two to talk and eat. The entire place (bathrooms included) has always been clean and cared for. We usually catch the late morning/lunch dim sum, so we can walk right in. The wait at night (especially weekends) can be long.
The Dim Sum is really an amazing and unique dining experience. Every dish is artfully presented and delicious.
We ate Dim-Sum. I found this restaurant nice compared to others because if the ability to order your Dim-Sum, instead of calling for people with carts.
The food is great, excellent variety and flavour. But the service is atrocious, I have no problem with them being rude, that is somewhat part of the experience. But the service was ridiculously slow for my table. I watched the table of 8 behind me change 3 times, while my party of two only ordered 8 plates. I spend almost 2 hours here, most of it was just waiting for food!
Phoenix has some of the best food I've ever had, the servers were phenomenal and the price was well worth it! If you haven't been here try it now!
I've been coming here since the mid 90s. Probably one of the best dim sum houses in the country. I went for dinner and was pleased as always. Great food, smiling servers. I went there to support them when the virus was really hurting their business and hope they come back strong.
In Chicago for the weekend and came here for an early lunch. And it's good that it was an early lunch seeing as it took me pretty much all day to digest how much food we got. Very ample portions and everything was delicious. Loved the dim-sum and I think it was reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
Dim sum was excellent and service was prompt. Easy parking. Located in heart of Chicagos Chinatown
So so incredible-- the food was outstanding and reasonably priced, we got to watch the sun set over the Chicago skyline and the buildings light up as we ate this magnificent dinner! Definitely was a must-have destination experience, would most definitely come back! It seems a little sketchy at first because it's on the second floor but damn is it ever worth it! Getting to see that view while drinking the delicious tea and eating the authentic Chinese cuisine is an experience I will not soon forget!
After trying several of the local dim-sum restaurants, Phoenix definitely stood out. The food has consistent, good quality. Most dishes come with 3 or 4 pieces, so it’s a lot easier to order when your party has multiples of 3/4 people. Tea is an extra charge, so make sure to tell them at the beginning if you don’t plan on drinking it. Recommend!
Great Dim Sum served by a friendly and helpful staff.
The shrimp and scallops were great. The chicken is amazing. The service was very quick and polite. I attended a 100th day celebration.
The food is fantastic and the quantity is great.Highly recommend their Chow Mien, and Steamed Rice. You can have nice sumptuous meals for just a few bucks is worth it!!!
Some of the best traditional dim sum I have ever had! Service was excellent and environment great. Entry is unassuming, but soon you will be blown away!
Disappointed!! been there before I ordered the shrimp rolls to go delicious! Came back to sit down the service was bad no silverware no water the food wasn't even good no matter how good the shrimp rolls are won't be back!!
Be careful what you order, some items are no better than your Chinese down the street. Suggest you take a good look at the soups. Also there are a ton of options within walking distance.
Very good place to have traditional Chinese and dim sum plates. We got there for an early dinner around 5.30, by the time we left the place was packed! They have a few large options to share.. I will definitely come back to try the roasted duck m. Highly recommended
I wanted to try some authentic Chinese food and I was so glad I tried Phoenix. The food was amazing and the menu was clear so a novice like myself could understand what it was I was ordering. The staff were also very friendly and did not make me feel out of place. Definitely coming back.
We made a day trip to Chicago from SE WI by way of train for our daughter's ninth birthday. She's a big foodie and very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods so I thought dim sum would be right up her alley. I'm so glad we happened upon Phoenix Restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was great with answering all of our questions.
I was excited as this place has Michelin award for 2019. Not sure why, food was blah and service was okay. Ordered dim sum, meats tasted like they were going bad. Actual plates ordered were just as bad. VERY VERY disappointed, might give it another shot. Maybe an off night.
Great service, amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. They have crabs and lobsters in tanks right there, so you know it's fresh. They frequently check to make sure your tea is hot, ensuring your experience is even better. Price is also pretty reasonable.
Very good food and service! My daughter asked how soon we could come back. Much quieter atmosphere than many dim sum places.
Warning single customers!Delicious Dim Sum (small dishes like fried egg rolls and steamed pork dumplings). The place is always crowded. If you're eating by yourself, don't expect a good place to sit down because you're going to sit in a corner away from other people. The waiters are only interested in big tips from a large group of people. Single diners are always ignored or treated as a nuisance. If you're eating alone, don't expect good customer service from your waiter. The elevator and the hallway outside the dining room smelled of urine. The food is good but the social skills by the dining staff don't translate from Chinese to Western manners. The Chinese staff act rude and ignorant of being polite to a customer. The restaurant is not nice to single customers. You need three or more people with you before you're considered a paying customer.
